Celebaby: Kelly Clarkson Shares Adorable Picture Of Baby River Rose
Proud new Mum and singer Kelly Clarkson has taken to Twitter to share a snap of her new baby girl with the world.
Alongside the picture, she wrote:
"Here is our beautiful baby girl River Rose; 6lbs 6oz, 18 inches, and the greatest thing on the planet :)"
Just a few days earlier Kelly announced, also via Twitter, the arrival of her baby girl. She tweeted:
"Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)"
"Before River's arrival, Kelly said the couple had already decided a name – despite not knowing if they were having a boy or girl."
"She told The Ellen Degeneres Show: 'The baby's sex doesn't even matter because, honestly, the name we've picked, if it's a boy or a girl, it's the same name.'"
"According to our baby name finder, River is a boy's name of Shakespearean origin. Rose is an English name meaning flower and is a popular shortening of Rosemary or Rosie."
So, tell me: what do you make of the whole official portraits of newborn babies thing? It seems to be the done thing these days but I'm kind of a fan of old-fashioned family snaps, without all the pomp and ceremony of an official photo shoot.
Kelly's pic is absolutely stunning but I was in way too much of a daze after the birth of each of my kids to think about standing them in flower pots or dressing them up in cow suits for their first ever photo-call.
What about you? Did you organise an official portrait when your baby was born, or do you reckon it's just a little bit cray-cray?
