Celebaby: The Royal Baby... It's A Boy!
There’s only one Celebaby worth writing about today.
As you’ll know by now, unless you’ve been living under a rock, the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby boy yesterday afternoon.
Catherine was admitted to the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s hospital at around 5.30am yesterday morning, accompanied by her husband, and the couple’s son arrived at 4.24pm weighing 8lb 6oz.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge waited around four hours to release the news of their son’s arrival in order to allow them to spend quality time together as a family.
The Queen's Press Secretary and a footman posted the official announcement of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's baby on an easel in Buckingham Palace forecourt - pictured.
Prince Charles said on the occasion of the birth of his first grandchild:
“Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It’s an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy. Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future."
Prince William released a statement saying simply:
“We could not be happier.”
