Now the cold has properly set in, the argument in this house is whether it's worth putting the heating on for one person sitting still. The Silentnight Teddy Boucle USB Heated Cuddle Cushion is £45 at Boots, and it's one of those cushions with a high back and arm rests that wraps round you rather than perching behind you.
The bit that makes it useful is that it runs off a USB power bank rather than a mains plug, so there's no lead going to a socket and you can carry it from the sofa to the bed to a chair at the desk. The power bank isn't included, so it's worth knowing you'll need one already. It has three heat settings, it shuts itself off after two hours, and there's overheat protection on it, which is what I want to see on anything that gets warm while I'm sat on it.
The fabric is teddy boucle, so it's a soft textured fleece rather than smooth cotton, and the cover zips off at the back and goes in the wash, which matters for something you'll be eating biscuits against. There's a pocket on the side for a phone, the power bank and the remote as well, so nothing ends up wedged down the side of the sofa. Silentnight put a three year guarantee on it.
One thing to know is that it turns up compressed, so leave it a couple of days to plump back up before you decide what you think of it. It comes direct from the supplier rather than from a Boots store, so it's home delivery only, usually in 3 to 5 working days.
