Advent calendars have come a long way from a picture behind a door, and this one is 24 days of squishy toys rather than chocolate. The Scrunchems 24 Days Squish Ball Advent Calendar is £35 at Menkind, which works out at about £1.46 a squishy.
Behind each of the 24 doors there's a different mini squish ball, so nothing repeats across the month. Some are filled with beads and some with foam, a few have textured bits that swirl about as you squeeze them, and there are glow in the dark and colour changing ones in there too. Menkind have it marked as one of their best sellers, and this year's is a new collection rather than last year's set again.
It's the calendar for a fidgety pair of hands that would rather have something to squeeze than another chocolate, and it's suitable for ages 5 and over. The calendar itself is about 30cm by 40cm and only 4.5cm deep, so it hangs on a wall or the back of a door instead of taking up shelf space. The doors are perforated, so it's a one December thing and won't go again next year.
Worth knowing before you order is that it's on pre-order, with an expected release date of 20th November, so it turns up in good time for the first. Menkind also exclude it from their coupon codes, so a discount code won't come off this one, and it isn't available for click and collect either.
Standard delivery is £3.99 for 2 to 4 days, or £5.99 for express in 1 to 2 days.
