Balance Bike In Pink Or Blue £22.50 @ Toys R Us

6 October 2012

Toys R Us are selling these pink and blue balance bikes for £22.50 each, their usual full retail price is £49.99; you'll need to add code RBRANDS into the coupon code box, when you check out, to drop it down to this price; the code is valid for online orders only and expires on Thursday 11 October.

It took me a little while to get my head around the concept of balance bikes the first time I saw them; were they a sit-down-ride-on scooter?  Were they just a weird bikes without pedals? And did they really help children to learn how to ride bikes with pedals much faster than starting off with stabilisers first?!

The answers to my then questions, in order, were: no, no and absolutely!

I've subsequently seen young kiddies scooting around on their balance bikes, and every parent I've spoken to about them agrees that their sense of balance develops very quickly from riding them.

Balance bikes don't have any chains, there's no pedal coordination to be concerned with, just scooting along as fast as you can, picking your feet up and learning how to balance on two wheels almost on a subconscious level.

The suggested age range quoted by Toys R Us is three years and onward, a more accurate guide for you may be the approximate inside leg measurement of between 37 and 46cm.

As the 10% discount code can only be applied to online order, delivery will cost you an additional £4.95 - bringing the total price to £27.95; if you live close to a Toys R Us store and will be passing it, forget the discount code, arrange to collect your bike in person and save yourself the £2.96 difference!
