Every autumn I buy a cheap travel mug, and by November I remember exactly why it was cheap. The Stanley 1913 Aerolight Transit Travel Mug in 0.47L has dropped to £26 at Amazon in the lilac and the shale, and it's the one that keeps a drink hot for six hours rather than forty minutes, plus it's a big one! Sending hints to my husband as I type!

It's double wall vacuum insulated, so six hours hot and eight hours cold, which is more than a commute needs. The lid is the bit that matters most in a bag, because it's a drink through lid with a push up spout that locks down, so it doesn't leak over your laptop on the train. It's stainless steel, it goes in the dishwasher, and the base is narrow enough for a car cup holder.
Only two of the colours are at £26, so check the swatch before you order. Lilac and shale are the pair in this post, and every other colour is dearer at the minute.
0.47L is the size I'd go for, because it's a decent mug of tea without being a flask you'd only take on a walk. It'll do the school run, the gym and a full day at a desk, and a Stanley tends to outlive the cheap ones by years.
Delivery is free for Amazon Prime members. Non-members get free standard delivery on orders over £35, otherwise it's £4.99.
