I almost feel I should apologise in advance for choosing this...but it's such a good deal: reduced from £16.99 to £5.99!
After five minutes this could become your worst nightmare but your kids are going to LOVE IT!
This Beanstalk percussion mixer playmat is touch sensitive and has a built-in amplifier so you can play music through a portable CD/MP3 player and become the drummer and percussionist ifor all your favourite bands.
It has nine different instrument sounds and background music for your child to follow the rhythm and with their selected instruments (if you didn't want your young muso' to play along with choons from your oft' borrowed iPod).
It has an automatic power-off system which is a GOOD thing because this playmat takes 4 AA batteries to run (which aren't included) and if it's as popular as I think it's going to be then you're already going to be getting through a fair number of them - perhaps rechargeable ones might be wise here, either that or a larger overdraft!
The mat's vital statistics are as follows: (L)77, (W)68, (H)5cm and the minimum age recommendation is three years old. There's no upper age limit so when it all gets a bit too much, I'd be rather inclined to just join in; if you can't beat 'em join 'em and all that...or just beat the playmat!
