There's a real nip in the air now, and an electric blanket stops being a luxury and starts being the best thing in the house. The Silentnight Winter Nights one is down to £18 for the single at George.
It's £18 for the single, £22 for the double and £26.50 for the king, and they're down from £30, £35 and £45.
It's a fleece polyester one that goes on the mattress under your sheet, with straps to keep it in place rather than letting it bunch up in the night. There are three heat settings and it heats up quickly, so you can put it on half an hour before bed and get in to a warm one.
It's machine washable, which matters for something you're lying on every night, and it's got overheat protection built in. Silentnight say it costs from as little as 1p to pre-heat the bed for two hours on a low setting.
One thing worth knowing: they recommend turning it off before you fall asleep, so it's for warming the bed rather than leaving on all night.
At £18 for the single it's a cheap way to take the chill off, and it's the sort of present that gets used all winter rather than put away in January.
Returns are free to Asda if the size isn't right.
Click and collect is free. Standard delivery starts at £3.75 on this one, and next day or a named day is from £4.50.
