If you've left the Halloween decorating late, this is the cheap way to catch up. The Etopgo Halloween Decoration Lights are 5 metres of 50 orange LEDs on bendable copper wire, and they're £1.99 at Amazon, which is less than a pumpkin costs.

They're the thin wire sort rather than a cable, so you can wrap them round a banister, thread them through a garland or loop them in and out of a bowl of pumpkins, and they'll hold whatever shape you put them in. The light is a proper deep orange, not a yellow pretending to be orange, so a room or a window full of them looks like Halloween rather than Christmas.
The timer is the bit that makes them worth having. Press the button on the battery box and they come on for six hours and go off for eighteen, so they're doing their thing every evening without anyone remembering to switch them on and off. No plug and no socket needed, because they run on three AA batteries, which aren't included, and the battery box is small and clear so it hides behind whatever you've wound them round.
They're for indoor use, and the LEDs stay cool enough to handle, so they can go on a mantelpiece or through a garland without any worry about who's reaching for them. At this price I'd get a couple, one for the window and one for the fireplace, rather than trying to stretch one set around the whole house. There's 5% off when you buy any four as well, handy if you're doing a party.
Worth knowing on the timing: they arrive Friday 30 October, the day before Halloween, and there's a paid option that gets them to you on Thursday 29th if you'd rather not leave it that close. Some Amazon Basics AA batteries are on the same page, since you'll need them.
Delivery is free for Prime members, and it's free on your first eligible order to the UK or Ireland for everyone else, with Amazon's standard £4.99 charge after that.
