You keep the inner cup in the freezer, ideally overnight, then pour in whatever cold drink you fancy and give it a squeeze. The slush forms in seconds and there's a spoon straw in the box to eat it with. It's reusable, so it's a wash in warm soapy water and back in the freezer for the next one, and you know exactly what's gone into it because you poured it. Fruit juice works well, and frozen yoghurt is worth a try too.
The catch is the freezer time. It needs 8 to 10 hours before the first go, so it's not something to hand over the minute it arrives, and it's worth giving the inner cup a permanent home in the freezer so it's always ready. It's not suitable for under 3s, and don't be tempted to put it in the microwave.
