Well it’s the news we’ve all been waiting for, Primark have announced they’re starting home delivery in the UK!
Before you clear a space by the front door, there’s no date for it. In their trading update Primark’s owner ABF say they’ve “undertaken a detailed review” and “will in the future offer home delivery in Great Britain”, and “in the future” is as precise as they get. What they have done is buy a highly automated fulfilment centre in Sheffield, reported to have cost £90 million from Debenhams, which is the bit that makes it look like a real plan rather than a maybe.
That means England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland isn’t in it, which is the same as their click and collect, so that’s one to keep an eye on.
There’s no word yet on whether it’ll be the full range or a selection, and nothing at all on what delivery will cost. Click and collect is already in Primark in the meantime, covering womenswear, menswear, kids and homeware.
