Got a Gruffalo fan at home? You need this new addition at George at Asda! The Gruffalo Cream Fur Lined Clogs are from £8 at George, fur lined, with the strap at the back that makes them an actual shoe rather than a slipper.
The cream upper has Gruffalo paw prints printed all over it, there's a brown band round the side of the sole with "Oh help! Oh no!" and "It's a Gruffalo!" in cream script, and then the good bit, a moulded Gruffalo head on the toe with his orange eyes, white tusks and curved horns. There are two smaller charms either side of it, which is the sort of detail a child notices before you do.
Inside is a thick cream faux fur, deep enough that it spills over the collar, so it's the pair for wearing without socks through the winter and still being warm. The upper and sole are plastic, which means a wet playground doesn't ruin them, and the sole is ridged so they're not skating about on a slippy path.
Sizes run from a UK 6 to a UK 12, so EU 23 up to EU 31, and they don't go up in a straight line, so it's worth checking the size chart if you're between sizes. Most of the sizes are £8 and one is £10, so check the price when you pick.
The strap is the teal green one at the heel, hinged on a rivet each side, so it can swing back and be worn like a mule or fold over the top, which is how most of them end up being worn. That's the difference between a clog a child can get on themselves and a shoe that needs an adult crouching in a doorway every morning.
At £8 they're the price of a pair of slippers but they're proper outdoor shoes, and they're the one thing here that gets worn every day rather than saved for a party.
Delivery starts at £3.75, and Click & Collect from an Asda store is free.
