My favourite line in the Cars movie is when Mater replies to Lightening's news that Doc has three Piston Cups with "he did what in his cup?" So I'm giggling now just writing this. Tesco Direct has vastly reduced this Disney Cars Piston Cup Ramp Up Garage from £39.97 to £7.49.
Delivery is free if you can arrange for collection instore. Do check that one of your closest stores can provide this service first. Not all of them do unfortunately.
I don't think that Cars has ever gone out of fashion with little boys. You'll know what I mean if you have a boy aged under 6 years old. But it looks set to make a bigger resurgence when the new movie comes out. I'm not sure if it is released this summer or next though. They're already promoting it in the cinemas, so I really should pay more attention to the trailers! I know my six year old son is excited.
So this would make a fabulous addition to the present drawer, or to the birthday/Christmas stash. The garage is based (very loosely I think as there is no actual ramp up garage in the movie) on the Cars film. You can drive round three floors, visiting Luigi's Tyre Shop, Filmore's gas station and Lightning McQueen's Winner's stage. The set also has a helipad and spiral loop for racing down.
The set is compatible with all the cars from Characters Cars range.
