I adore stacking blocks. They are the kind of toys that you can have fun with at the same time as your child. If you get nice big, fat, squishy ones then they are divine to play with, and small cute ones are fun to throw around. These chaps are down from £12 to only £5 at Mothercare.
These lovely blocks have a big and cute elephant to stack into shape, and lots of adorable little pictures like bunnies and whales, on all the different sides. There are four stacking blocks included in the set and you can arrange to get them delivered to your door or save cash and collect them instore.
I am a fan of making stacking blocks too. You can knit or sew your very own versions that have personal motifs or images on them. Although they may not be as cheap as this, they will look fantastic and be a little piece of you.
