It works on the same idea as those traffic light clocks, showing them when it's still sleep time and when it's fine to get up, except it does it with mood lights and little animations rather than numbers they can't read yet. There's a story built into it that walks them through their own sleep routine too.
You get three story companions that light up while they play, and between them 60 songs, classic stories and nature soundscapes to drift off to. There's a timer you can set to 15, 30 or 45 minutes, so the wind down can be as long or as short as your evening will allow. You can also record your own voice reading their favourite story, which I think is lovely if you're ever out at bedtime, or for a grandparent to do.
It runs on four AA batteries or a USB-C lead, so you can plug it in and not think about batteries at all. There's an LCD clock on the front for setting the alarms, and it's suitable from age three.
