This Fioretto expandable bag is a cracking price today, tick the 50% voucher and it's just £6.94 delivered with Prime. I've bought it for the gym but it would be equally as useful for a night away or even a general bag.
It has a separate waterproof wet pocket for damp towels or swimwear, plenty of inner and outer pockets, and it converts between a tote and a backpack. It measures around 42 x 23 x 28cm, and there's a zip along the bottom that expands the depth up to 40cm when you need the extra room. The voucher price is on five colours: navy blue, black, light grey, dusty pink and light blue (a few other shades are on the page at a slightly higher price).
One honest note from the reviews: people like it for the size and how versatile it is, but a fair few say the poppers that hold the backpack straps don't always stay put, so it works best as a tote or holdall rather than a heavily loaded backpack.
