Big TrakThis is one of the coolest toys out this Christmas! OK I might be a big biased as a retro toy from 1980 gives me a chance to revisit my own childhood. Which is when the Big Trak first hit the toyshelves. We've reviewed this toy here. Play.com are selling the Big Trak for £21.99 including delivery. A reduction of £18 on the RRP of £39.99.

So, what is a Big Trak? It is a sort of spacecraft toy, with a keyboard on the top of it. You can manually program this toy, using the keyboard, to undertake a series of manouvres. Sounds a bit simple in this day and age of high tech gadgetry. But it is surprisingly engrossing, and there's a strange sort of satisfaction out of doing the programming yourself.

Here's what it says on the website. "Easy enough for kids to learn, but so much fun, even adults won't be able to resist. Boasting all the features of the original model, including 23 button keypad, front-mounted blue photon beam headlamp and the ability to store up to 16 preset programmes. With a 23-button keypad on its back, you can programme the plastic tank to trundle forward, then turn, then trundle some more... You get the picture. It also had 16 presets to perform predefined sequences of movements. It is like magic."
