Asda & M&S Launch New Payment Cards Aimed At Volunteers Shopping For Self-Isolating People

Asda and Marks & Spencer have taken great initiative and have launched special shopping cards to be used by volunteers that are collecting some essentials for those that are self-isolating or are too vulnerable to do it themselves.

It's a great way to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection, and is designed to eliminate fraudulence too. Working so that shopping can be collected on behalf of someone else without the need to exchange cash or bank cards, thus protecting the most vulnerable people.

As it comes in the form of an e-card, they can be bought online and topped up with money. You can then make a print out or email the e-card to the volunteer, and the barcode is then used when getting the groceries. Alternatively, M&S also suggest reading the 30 digit E-Gift Card code to checkout assistants at time of paying.
This means that volunteers can carry out a contactless shopping service for those in need, and it couldn't have come at a better time with the figures of COVID-19 increasing daily.

There will be limits in place with M&S customers being able to credit up to £500 on the card, and Asda just £150.

In addition to this, both supermarkets have been working tirelessly to ensure that their food supplies are flowing as well as possible. This is to make sure that the essentials are available to as many customers as possible.
