Disney Infinity To Cease Production In June

12 May 2016
Disney Infinity Cancelled

If your kids love Disney Infinity they may well be gutted by this news. Disney have announced that they are ceasing production on Disney Infinity after the final figure releases in June. The game has performed much worse that expected and the company that published the game is expected to close.

What does this mean for those who have the game? If your children have the game in any of it's three versions they will still be able to play offline content, though it's not clear how long the online content will be kept for. Fans have been expressing concern about the servers being switched off which will leave gamers with limited playing options.

There will be no further games made so Disney Infinity 3.0* will be the last. There are still two new sets of figures to be released: Alice Through The Looking Glass later this month, and Finding Dory in June.

It's being predicted that stores will start to sell off the games, starter sets and figures at reduced prices to clear stocks, so we will keep an eye open for deals on those for you.

I know my son will be really disappointed by this news as he has just got into the game with the latest Star Wars version* and was starting to collect the figures, and I'm guessing there will be lots more kids upset by this news.

You can read the announcement on the Disney Interactive Blog here.

it's the most boring game ever. Originally it came with endless possibilities but only if parents have an endless pot of cash to continue to buy new bits for it same as sky landers and now those Lego ones

luckier my son is older so has an Idea but he says it's quite boring. I only got it so him and his little sister could do it together she is 4 and even she says it's stupid and the only thing they can do is a few races together as everything else they have to build or need ad ons for it such a waste of money
