No, this is not a dream, no, your mother didn't turn up over night (if she ever made bread anyway) and no, your toddler isn't a genius master chef. It's a bread maker. Set the night before, started while you were snoozing away, and beeping to tell you breakfast is ready. A beautiful dream, you say?
Well, this Morphy Richards can make at least that dream come true.
This particular model makes either a 1lb or a 1.5lb bread, and has 10 baking programmes to choose from including cakes and jams. There are three crust settings – light, medium and dark – and an 'add ingredients' signal if you want to try variations such as cheese bread, herb bread or pretty much anything else.
It has a 13-hour programmable timer, for presetting and just so you're not left short, it comes with measuring cup and spoon and a recipe and instruction book.
An element of it that intrigues me is the unique collapsible kneading blade for, they claim, the perfect shaped loaf – rather than having to gouge out a piece of the middle to get the blade out. Now that sounds perfect to me!
Although on Amazon, this is actually being sold by Ryness Lighting & Electrical, and will cost you an additional £1.20 in postage – still, in my book, a bargain for fresh, home made, preservative free bread.
