My sons have hats like this and they're the best kind of winter hat I've found. They keep them super toasty and warm thanks to the ear flaps, plus they're hard wearing and stylish enough for my kids to actually choose to wear them, too.
Infact when we mislaid one hat, my kids actually argued over who got to wear the one we could find. And as anyone who's ever tried to persuade a small boy to wrap up warm knows, that's priceless.
And while it's not strictly hat season, it really doesn't look as if the weather is going to be warming up any time soon. But if you resolutely refuse to buy a winter hat in April then I guess you could always invest in one a size up, and put it away for next winter.
