RECALL UPDATE: Childen's Christmas Books Now Recalled Across ALL Retailers Due To Mould

RECALL UPDATE: Childen's Christmas Books Now Recalled Across ALL Retailers Due To Mould

Yesterday we told you that Sainsbury's had issued a recall on two children's Christmas books, and today that recall has been extended to ALL retailers. The books affected are 'That's Not My Santa' and 'That's Not My Reindeer' by Usbourne Books, and only specific batch numbers are affected. This is due to a storage issue that could cause mould forming, and is purely a precautionary measure. If you have either of these books then check the batch number and if yours is affected you can get a refund.

You can read the recall in full on the Trading Standards website here, and this is the full recall information:

Title: That's not my reindeer

ISBN: 9781409556046

Binding: Board Book

Batch: 01848/14

Price: £6.99

On sale from: August – November 2015

Title: That's not my Santa

ISBN: 9781409537250

Binding: Board Book

Batch: 03471-3

Price: £6.99

On sale from: July – November 2015

Usborne Publishing Ltd. regrets to inform customers we are recalling copies of 'That's not my reindeer', batch 01848/14, sold between August 2015 – November 2015 and 'That's not my Santa', batch 01851/10, sold between July 2015 – November 2015.

Why the recall?

The recall is due to a humidity problem found with some cartons containing these batches delivered to the UK, causing the potential safety concern of mould forming. While not all copies are affected, we are recalling the entire batch of both products to ensure customers are not potentially put at risk.

If you own a copy of either of these products, please check the batch number found on the bottom left hand corner of the back cover.

What to do if you have a copy of batch 01848/14 or 01851/10

Even if your book featuring these batch numbers has not developed any mould, we ask you to please return your copy to the place of purchase for a full refund.

As the article says you take it back to the place of purchase for a refund

        • JPP

You just need to take it back to the shop that you bought it. My problem was that I couldn't remember which shop was the right one. I solved this problem by going around all the shops near me. First I went to Asda but that wasn't the right shop, it was too bumpy. Then I took it to Tesco, but that wasn't the right shop, it was too shiny. Next I tried Morrison's, but it wasn't the right shop, it was too fluffy.  Finally I took it to Sainsburys. That was my shop, it was soooo soft.

We are very impressed with your response to our recall notice, and we thought of many ways to tell you so.... writing you a poem, but it was too rhymey, singing you a song, but it was too whiney, telling you a joke, but it was too slimy so we decided on saying THANKS because you are soooo funny!

                        Nada :D

The last line of the article tells you what to do -

"Even if your book featuring these batch numbers has not developed any mould, we ask you to please return your copy to the place of purchase for a full refund."

Retailers will have been informed of this and will be able to give you your refund or a replacement.

Mold has no u unless you are making something from a mould.

                            • Zonko

Mold has no u if you have an American English dictionary

                              • edandhen

Hi Panda, PlayPennies is a UK based site which is the English spelling of "mould" is used rather than the American English one. It's good to know we are reaching across the Atlantic though! :)
