Scooby Doo Ghostbusters Mystery Machine Review

3 September 2012

My daughter is utterly Scooby Doo mad and loves, loves, loves the series. As it is the school holidays I’ve allowed her to watch episodes in the mornings on my iPad and I am sure it is the highlight of her day. So, as a part of her birthday treat, I got her the Scooby Doo Ghostbusters Mystery Machine off Amazon. At the moment it is down from £22.99 to £16.95 so you are saving a nice £6 off the usual price. And it comes with free delivery.

The Scooby Doo Ghostbusters Mystery Machine does NOT come with ANY figurines. None. There are no Velma, Daphne, Fred, Scooby Doo or Shaggy and no monsters, so ignore the fact that they happen to be in the picture. Completely.

You will also see that there are some silver marks on the Mystery Machine in the picture. These are not on the version I got either. In fact, mine looks a lot less chic than that one. You do, however, get one tub of orange goo that is, thank goodness, water soluble so it won’t stain your carpets. I say “thank goodness” because my daughter left it open and knocked it over so when we got home we found orange goo had spread across the carpet.

The Scooby Doo Ghostbusters Mystery Machine does have quite a few nice perks though. You can get the figures separately and they fit perfectly, the back of the truck can open up into a full monster catching get up or it can be closed so you can drive it around with the Scooby Gang inside. You can also open the front of the truck to put Fred in the driver’s seat and you get a cage for catching your monsters.

I wouldn’t pay the original price for the Scooby Doo Ghostbusters Mystery Machine, but for £16 it is brilliant fun that has had my daughter enthralled since the moment she got it.
