Yesterday Nada told you about the Melissa & Doug Pound and Roll Tower on offer at Amazon, and it looks like they have more great deals on some other Melissa & Doug toys too. The Paint Your Own Wooden Train or Racing Car are available as add on items for only £3.99, rather than the £6-8 they usually sell for on Amazon.
These are really lovely gifts that are a craft activity and a toy rolled into one, as once you have built and painted your wooden train or racing car you end up with a unique toy vehicle to play with too.
The kits come with everything that you need to make the models including pre cut wooden pieces, tubes of glue, different coloured paint pots, a paintbrush, some decorative stickers and instructions on how to build the toy.
These kits are not suitable for children under 3 because of the small parts, and the recommended age is from 4 upwards.
Craft sets like these are a big hit in my house as my 5 year old can let his imagination run wild with mixing different colours, decorating and adding stickers so that the toy will look like no one else's - but at the same time you still have a sturdy wooden toy that stands up to being played with afterwards.
If you're not familiar with the "Add On" items from Amazon, it's a range of lower priced items that would be cost prohibitive to dispatch on their own, but can be added on at the lower price to qualifying orders of £10 or more.
