It is always good to get a Lego bargain. This is one I've snapped up to go in my son's birthday pile of presents. Argos has reduced the Lego City Fire Truck from £5.49 to £3.56. Plus, delivery is free for this item.
My son already has a number of the police and emergency vehicles from this range so this will make a great addition. I wonder though about these 'sets'. Do all children do what my son does? He loves making it up, although at five and a half it is still with mummy or daddy's help. And he likes to keep the Lego model intact for a few weeks. But after that it get rips apart and all the little bits go into his big box of Lego without a second thought.
And re-used for what he likes doing the most with Lego. Which is to make all these weird free-form structures. Or his own style of spaceships. Sometimes I think that just giving him boxes of plain Lego might simply be better! But with the models he is also learning to follow an instruction manual, so I guess that's got to be a good thing too.
