I Love ... Strawberries & Milkshake, and I Love ... Peaches & Cream Review

What do I love? There's the obvious of course. My children, my husband, my family and friends. But the other thing I love is having lots of lovely smelly luscious things in my bathroom.

In short, I love smellies!

Which is what I got for review this week. These are from the appropriately named I Love ... range of bath and body products. The two I received are the Strawberries and Milkshake, and Peaches and Cream, shower cream and bubble bath.

Did they smell gorgeous? Were they a fabulous experience? Did they rock my world? You'll have to read on to find out.

I Love ... Strawberries & Milkshake

As you can see from the photos here, this particular product appears to have two different types of packaging. Plain, and in honour of the Diamond Jubilee, the Union flag motif pictured above. Sorry, the bottle shown isn't quite full. You do get more in there, but I'd already used some of it before I remembered to take the shot.

I Love ... Strawberries & Milkshake 2.05, Superdrug ) for a 500ml bottle is a bubble bath and shower cream. It smells exactly like a Chupa Chups strawberries and cream lollipop. And the scent is quite strong. I had a soak in it at the end of a very long day, and it was luscious.

I could smell the scent on my skin afterwards. And I found myself getting a whiff of it the following day too. I have to say, it is really quite pleasant. Although my son did ask me if I was hiding sweeties!

As a shower creme it foams up well, and is pleasant on the skin. I didn't feel like it left any unpleasant residue. Although for some reason I kept expecting to feel sticky aftewards! Had to keep reminding myself I wasn't really rubbing myself down with Chupa Chups.

It was quite nice as a bubble bath. The liquid doesn't permeate the water, so there's no 'slimy' feel. You get a good amount of bubbles out of it, but not a huge froth. However, they don't last as long as other bubble baths do. I've often found this to be the case with combined bubble bath and shower cremes.

This special edition version should be available at Superdrug and instore at the Co-operative.

Pros: smells gorgeous, feels good on the skin, good price

Cons: you smell a bit like a Chupa Chups lollipop, not so good as a bubble bath

Overall verdict: 7/10

I Love ... Peaches & Cream

How do they do this? Honest ly, how? The I Love ... Peaches & Cream (500ml, £2.05) smells EXACTLY like fresh peaches. As if you've just sliced up a peach yourself, fresh off the tree, and into a bowl. And poured cream straight from the cow on top.

Well I exaggerate slightly. I've never had cream straight from the cow, so I can't say for sure. But if I've ever imagined what the freshest possible cream smelled like, after being poured over peaches, this would be it.

For more on what this is like as a shower creme and as a bubble bath, see the review for the I Love ... Strawberries & Cream above. It works in the same way.

I much much prefer the scent for this one though. It felt fresher, and the tangy fruity aroma of the peaches is complimented well by the sweet smell of the cream. I not only really liked having this scent on my skin, and smelling it throughout the day, but I also loved how it scented my bathroom for the rest of the day.

It was simply lovely to walk in there to this hint of peaches, especially with the windows wide open and the sun baked breeze wafting in. All you can see from the window of my bathroom is the green leaves of the woods behind the house. I felt like I was in the country, not the middle of London.

Pros: if you like, or are even just OK with, the smell of peaches you will love this

Cons: not so good as a bubble bath, you'll have cravings for peaches

Overall verdict: 9/10

It is amazing. The scent really does smell like peaches. I wasn't sure if it was just me so I had to get a friend to test it out too. She was also amazed at how accurate the smell is!
