Easy Halloween Nail Art

Easy Halloween Nail Art

Halloween is nearly upon us and it's about so much more than hacking a pumpkin to bits. Each year, we see vloggers on You Tube pulling out all the stops when it comes to Halloween makeup but what about spooky nails?

Nail art is so effective especially when done correctly. It doesn't need to be difficult to look amazing - in fact the simplest designs can be the most striking.

Here's our list of Easy Halloween Nail Art:

Spider Webs

Choose to decorate your ring finger only or every nail.

  1. Apply a base coat to your nails.
  2. Paint your nails a desired colour. Why not go for spooky black or navy?
  3. Grab a nail art pen or a fine tipped brush and a nail polish in a contrasting colour.
  4. Starting from any corner of your nail, draw a wide 'V' shape, then inside a smaller 'V'.
  5. Now, connect those 'Vs' with little curved horizontal lines to look like a creepy spider's web.
  6. Use a clear top coat to seal. This looks great with a high shine or matt finish.

Ghosts

Again, this is effective on one nail per hand or on all fingers.

  1. Apply a base coat to your nails.
  2. Paint your nails with a ghostly white colour.
  3. Grab a black nail art pen or a black nail varnish and fine tipped brush.
  4. Make sure the white base has dried fully.
  5. Do two black circles for the eyes - don't worry if they aren't matching or are precise, it'll add to the spooky effect.
  6. Paint on an oval shape for the mouth - again, if it's a bit ragged round the edges it's fine.
  7. Finish with a top coat of gloss or matt.

Dripping Blood

Want blood on your hands? This is one of my favourite looks for Halloween. It's not too quirky, either.

  1. Apply a base coat to your nails.
  2. Pick a neutral colour for your base.
  3. Top with a matt top coat. This isn't compulsory but it's much more effective.
  4. Make sure your nails are dry fully before the next step.
  5. Pick a dark red nail polish and a fine tipped nail brush or a nail art pen.
  6. Do sporadic dots around the middle of each nail in red. Try not to get them in a straight line. You want it to look like dripping blood.
  7. Paint across the top of the nail and paint downwards to connect the dots of 'blood'.
  8. Don't finish with a top coat, as you want the glossy red 'blood' to stand out.

Pumpkins

It's not Halloween without pumpkins, is it?

  1. Apply a base coat to your nails.
  2. Paint your nails bright orange.
  3. Leave to dry.
  4. Grab a black nail art pen or black nail polish and a fine tipped nail brush.
  5. Paint on three small triangles in black - two for the eyes and one for the nose.
  6. Then for the mouth, just draw on a zigzag.
  7. Finish with a shiny top coat, or a matt one.

Googly Eyes

Halloween nails don't need to be too scary.

  1. Apply a base coat to all of your nails.
  2. Paint your nails Black.
  3. Apply a matt base coat and leave to dry completely.
  4. Grab a white nail art pen or white nail polish and fine tipped nail brush.
  5. Simply do two white dots for the eyes.
  6. Then two smaller black dots in the middle of those.
  7. Leave off a top coat, so that the eyes stand out more.
