Much as I love the animals set with it's cute creatures, it's the one with the numbers and letters I think I would go for, purely for the educational factor.
These are wooden puzzles with large chunky pieces that are easy for small hands to hold, and they're suitable from 12 months of age, so are ideal for toddlers and pre-schoolers.
My boys had plenty of puzzles like this when they were younger, and they were played with almost every day. It's a really easy way to help teach little ones their first numbers, letters and animals through play, so they won't even realise they're being taught.
