National Express have just started a huge promotion where you can get coach tickets for just £5! They're promising over a million £5 fares so you could bag yourself a cheap coach ticket for a trip with the kids, pop off and do some shopping, or visit friends and family for a bargain price.
It looks like the £5 fares are for travel right the way through to December, from a quick search, and we're talking about long cross country journeys as well as short hops here!
I looked at trips from Manchester and could get £5 fares to London, Glasgow, and other destinations for a fiver - a trip to Birmingham was even cheaper at just £4! I'm quite tempted to attempt a trip with the kids at Half Term, as these prices are so much cheaper than rail or petrol for the car!
The £5 fares seem really widespread, though the tickets are limited so the further in advance you book your ticket the more likely it is that there will be £5 seats available.
The fares are one way only, so you can get return journeys from £10, and there's a £1 booking fee, but that's per transaction, not an extra £1 per ticket, so that seems really reasonable.
