This Famous Five Book Collection features the first 10 books of the Famous Five franchise, and come all nice and neatly presented in their own slip case.
I can't really tell you much about a collection of such well-known books, so here's a bit of Famous Five trivia for you...
Enid Blyton penned the first Famous Five book - Five on a Treasure Island - in 1942. She only ever intended to write between six and eight stories featuring Julian, Dick, Anne, George (who was actually Georgina) and Timmy the dog, but due to popular demand went on to produce 21 Famous Five adventures.
There was a Famous Five TV series produced and aired between 1978 and 1979 - I vaugly remember watching some of the 26 episodes that were made.
Of all the Enid Blyton books I read as a child, the Famous Five stories weren't among them!
I don't know why, but they just never appealed to me - I read the Adventure series, which were very similar kids-turn-detective-and-get-themselves-into-all-sorts-of-trouble stories, and the Malory Towers series, along with Enid Blyton's Book of Fairies, but NOT the Famous Five.
If you want to revisit your Famous Five days or introduce your child to a world where lashings of ginger beer was a good thing, then you'll be pleased to know that you can pick up this Famous Five Book Collection for £9.99 instead of the £49.90 list price.
Unless you're going to spend £25 or more with The Book People, in total, you'l have to pay a £1.95 single item delivery charge too.
