This little Dear Zoo Animal Shapes book has thick chunky board pages, which makes it perfect for little ones just getting to grips with books and allows them to turn the pages easily - kids love turning the pages for you when you're reading to them, it makes them feel even more involved.
Within the pages of Dear Zoo they'll discover all sorts of animal shapes, learning different animal names and what they look like in the process.
Reviews are varied: the consensus of opinion seems to be that for younger, younger children it's perfect; older children will need something a little 'more'.
"Rod Campbell's original 'Dear Zoo' book has been a massive hit with my two-year-old for at last a year. He loves the lift-the-flap aspect to it and enjoys identifying all the animals. This new book is a spin-off and just features cut-outs of the animals with the words 'too big!', 'too jumpy!' etc.
It's a nice bright board book with the same attractive illustrations as the original. Unfortunately it's not engaging enough for my son now as he needs something with a bit more complexity. For a younger child, though, I wouldn't hesitate."
