You have to book today for travel between today and 30 December, so this might be an early Christmas gift, or a Christmas to New Year gift, but don't mistakenly buy for next year some time!
A great example of what's on offer is the Barcelona Apartment Aramunt, for two adults and two children. Normally £113 a night, the standard room is reduced to £55 a night or the executive room to £64.
A Monday - Friday stay towards the end of the month would cost my family £220, with free Wifi.
That doesn't strike me as being very much for a week near the tourist hotspots of Barcelona, with the outdoor swimming pool, wireless internet access, a rooftop terrace, washers/dryers and a safe, as well as self catering kitchen facilities - great for the budget too.
