We have a tradition in our house of reading a Christmas book at bedtime every night in December, and this looks just the ticket. It's especially good value because it comes with a CD, and if your kids are anything like mine nothing helps send them off to land of nod quite like falling asleep whilst listening to stories.

"I bought this for my daughter just before her 2nd Christmas - along with Ian Beck's The Christmas Story (which is the perfect traditional nativity accompaniment to this). She loved it and got to learn all the names of the reindeers very quickly. I notice that there are many different versions of this classic - all illustrated in different styles. Although the pictures in this are old-fashioned in style, I love them all the more. They are beautiful and iconic. Looking at all the other versions, I have not found one which I prefer the look of, and will look forward to digging this out of the cupboard again next Christmas."
