They say "love don't cost a thing". Well, strictly speaking no it doesn't, but when it comes to engagement rings, it soon becomes pricey. That is unless you hot foot it over to a Poundland store where you can bag some bling for just £1.
At £1, the Poundland engagement ring may not be met with a positive reception when you propose, but one things for sure, it'll not bankrupt you should the answer be no.
Poundland are marketing these £1 engagement rings as "placeholders" - so essentially a prop until they can afford something special, or so that the "bride-to-be" can pick her own rock.
These rings come in a choice of different designs, some with gold coloured bands and others silver, diamond-esque stones to coloured ones. Each ring comes in a heart shaped red velvet look box to give it that romantic feel.
The £1 'bling rings' and 'man bands' were a huge hit last Valentine's
Day, with the retailer announcing they had sold almost 40,000 ahead of
14th February 2020.
Valentine's Day is around the corner, what would you do if your partner bent down on one knee with this £1 ring thrust toward you?
no excuse now
xx

I'd buy one for.my 11 Yr old they're so pretty...
what a bargain I particularly like the red heart ..
Nowhere near as romantic.
Erm no I’d say no ... id rather no ring than a £1 shop ring ! Just me tho
Price of ring shouldn't matter
Haha what can i say iam a true gentleman
It's all fun and games until your finger turns green and the ring turns to rust and cuts your hulk finger!
No thanks I’d rather have no ring than a green ring around my finger from the cheap metal. Not ungrateful just real
Your finger probably go green
A Haribo ring is more genuine than these.
You can get 2 if you want lol
Nah your alright

To be fair, another post I saw about this had the box which says something like 'because she'd rather chose her own'. In which case might be perfect for *some* couples for the gesture.
Em yes it's the thought that counts as ye no am not hard to please
