I tested it out on this fabulous Creative Blocks Set. The first time I saw these I fell in love with them, and they make a fantastic gift when you want something that little bit special. I wish I'd been able to get them when my son was a pre-schooler. I know he'd have loved them, especially in those primary colours, and the lovely natural wood. These cost £19.99.
