Tesco Recall Butter Over Listeria Contamination

Tesco have recalled several of their own butter products as there may be listeria bacteria present which can cause food poisoning and other serious medical conditions. If you have purchased any of the listed products with any date codes then you are advised not to consume then and return them to stores for a full refund. A receipt is not required.

All date codes

  1. Tesco Chocolate Chip & Maple Syrup Butter 100g
  2. Tesco Red Chilli & Lemon Butter 100g
  3. Tesco Roast Garlic & Herb Butter 100g
  4. Tesco Three Peppercorn Butter 100g
  5. Counters Roast Garlic & Herb Butter Discs 10g
  6. Counters Peppercorn Butter Discs 10g
  7. Counters Chilli Butter Discs 10g

We have been made aware that some Tesco butters may have levels of Listeria monocytogenes present.

As a precautionary measure, we are recalling all date codes of affected butters from customers. Products 5 to 7 are complimentary butter discs offered to customers at the fresh meat and fish counters. No other Tesco products are known to be affected.

What you should do:

Please do not consume affected products.

Please return the affected products to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.
