Recall: IKEA LATTJO Tongue Drums and Drum Sticks

Recall: IKEA LATTJO Tongue Drums and Drum Sticks

Ikea have issued a recall on their LATTJO Tongue Drums and Drum Sticks toy instruments as a part may come loose and present a choking hazard to smaller children. There have been no incidents reported and this is a precautionary measure, but if you have either of these toys Ikea urges customers to return them to store for a refund.

You can read the recall notice on the Trading Standards website here and at Ikea UK here*, and the full notice follows below:

IKEA urges customers who have LATTJO drum sticks or LATTJO tongue drum to bring them back to any IKEA store for a full refund.

This is a precautionary recall due to 6 reports from IKEA store co-workers that the rubber ball of the drum sticks can detach or be unscrewed. The recommended age for these toys are 6+ yrs old, however a loose rubber ball can attract smaller children and in worst case lead to choking. No incidents have been reported.

The products are tested and approved to applicable toy safety standards. However, during our subsequent investigation we identified risks that the standards do not address.

LATTJO drum sticks and LATTJO tongue drum have been sold on all IKEA markets since 1st November 2015.

LATTJO drum sticks and LATTJO tongue drum can be returned to any IKEA store for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required for a full refund. For more information, please visit www.IKEA.com/gb/en/ or contact IKEA on 0203 645 0010.
