Is This Your Dream Job? Lego Professor Of Play Wanted

Was a change of career part of your New Year's plans this year? Well this could be someone's dream job as Cambridge University are recruiting the first Professor Of Play funded by Lego!

This is a genuine vacancy for the head of the university's newly established Centre for Research on Play in Education, Development, and Learning.

The centre will 'examine the importance of play and playfulness in education', with the aim of equipping children with skills in problem solving, team work, and self-control.

The successful applicant won't be building with Lego all day though, as they will be required to do some teaching, research, examination, supervision, and administration in their new role.

The university states they'd especially welcome applications 'from those working in the field of play and playfulness', and also any outstanding scholars in the fields of educational or developmental psychology, so you do need a lot more than just a love of Lego I'm afraid.

Apparently The Lego Foundation is hoping for a candidate with a 'childlike mindset' for the role - someone who is 'playful, extremely curious, open-minded, imaginative and creative.'

If you want to apply you can find more information here, but you'll need to be quick as the deadline is 20th January.
