Lazy Mum Confessions. What's Yours?

Lazy Mum Confessions. What's Yours?

I don't know about you, but I love a bit of lazy mumming. You know what I'm talking about – those half-assed short cuts you take when parenting and domesticity start to take their toll and you just need to cut a corner here and there.

I'm not generally a particularly lazy mum but I have been known to crack open a tin of spaghetti hoops after a busy day at work when I just can't face the thought of an hour in the kitchen preparing a healthier, more nutritious tea for the kids.

And I'm also partial to piling up clean washing just outside the kids' bedroom doors so they either have to put it away in order to get in and out of their rooms easily, or dress themselves from the pile until it's all back in the laundry basket again.

So I felt in good company when I read about an online thread of lazy mum confessions. In fact, some of them are so lazy that I felt positively diligent in comparison.

The Sun reports:

MUMS have been sharing their "lazy confessions" – and the results are both hilarious and refreshing.

While some admissions revolve around household chores and looking after the kids, others take a lower tone; with one woman even confessing to peeing in a bin.

Kicking off the thread on Mumsnet, user Changesorter said: "I am so lazy I just put the washing in the tumble dryer rather than spend time hanging it out.

"It's sunny with a light fresh breeze. I do care about energy consumption and cost. It's wasteful, I know. But today it allowed me to carve out an extra 20 minutes to d**k about on Mumsnet. I'm tired!"

One woman admitted ironing the front of her shirts with hair straighteners, while another revealed she puts her shirt in the tumble dryer with a wet flannel to get rid of creases quickly.

I don't think I'd count using the tumble drier as lazy – isn't that exactly what it's for?!

But enough about me. We'd love to hear your best lazy parenting confessions. Share them by leaving a comment below or come and join the conversation over on our Facebook page.
