FREE Heritage Open Days Throughout UK 11th - 20th September 2020

Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE.

If you're looking for a fun day out that all the family can enjoy then this is a great way to do just that and without spending a fortune too. This year things are a little different, as all events are socially distanced (or digital), but that won't stop the (free) fun.

The Heritage Open Days are open in England but don't despair if you live outside of England you can use visit one of the virtual Doors Open Days that will be run in the rest of the UK.

There are events across the whole of the UK, and you can find all the information on the links above.

These brilliant events are all run by volunteers, you can visit many places which are not always open to the public such as historic houses, castle ruins, gardens and museums. Many of the events are aimed specifically at children so this is a great way to discover more about the history and architecture that's all around them!
