Actually, these are pretty great. The year my daughter was born, we filled a calender with pictures of her posed for each month - with hearts for February, chicks for April, in the leaves for October and so on - and gave it to them for Christmas. Lame, sure, but proud first time parents and prouder first time grandparents are easy to please.
Of course, you can use pictures from your favourite holiday destinations, sunset scenes, old cars or whatever tickles your fancy, really. It's also a great idea if you just want to 'try it out' before deciding to make some for others for Christmas.
The way it works is simple - upload pictures, pop them in the months you'd like them for, and you can even personalise dates on the calender - no more forgetting birthdays and anniversaries, and if it's a gift for someone else, there's no reason for them to forget yours!
