You should rear face for as long as possible. They recommend until 4 before switching around. I turned my daughter just before she was 2 as she was out growing her chair. 10month old really shouldn't be forward facing.

                  • Laura B.

you just do what u want to do, its your child  defoz wouldnt keep my child facing the back of the seat untill 4 thats for sure

I have 2 of these for my nearly 1 and nearly 2 year old .. they don't recline unless forward facing ... And these are suitable for rear facing as long as they are over 9months and 9kg . And they are perfectly safe .. x

Could you rear face these? I went in to Mothercare to try and the saleslady said she hasn't encountered any car with seats wide enough to accommodate these rear facing even though they are marketed as such. Just double check to be sure as that is why we walked away from this.

We had this seat rear facing in a VW Passat for a few months when our wee man was under 6 months and occasionally needed to be in the other car. No issues with fitting the seat this way!

                            • Rachel S.

Rachel Marshall completely agree! It is safest rear facing until at least 4. Just because something is legal doesn't mean it is safe. The rest of Europe are well ahead of us on car seat safety. x

can i just ask how children up to 4 years are supposed to rear face? what do they do with there legs? wrap them around there heads or something? my lad and my girl have both been front facing from about 1 x

                                • Rachal P.

If it wasn't safe they wouldn't make forward facing ones even the 200 all singing all dancing ones forward face . .. tell you what . . You sit and stare at a seat see how you like it ..

It's not unsafe to forward face but from crash tests they have done it's 500% safer for a child to be rear facing in a head on collision as they are thrown backwards into there carseat rather than thrown forward if forward facing. Down to parents choice if they take that information on

                                  • Lauren S.

Wish they rear faced longer :weary:

                                    • Ling D.

Could you rear face these at all? I went in to Mothercare to try and the saleslady said she hasn't encountered any car with seats wide enough to accommodate these rear facing even though they are marketed as such. Just double check to be sure as that is why we walked away from this.

                                      • Lauren S.

Not sure, i don't have one but I am on the hunt for something to fit my tiny seats! Would love to rear face as long as possible

                                        • Ling D.

After 10s of hours research we wound up with a Britax First Class Plus as it fits my Focus with the extremely short seatbelts and no Isofix. On offer at Amazon plus using a voucher, it came close to this price too. I still am not a fan but it's a Scandinavian company (or at least established in their market place) so tried and tested in rear racing as it is the law there. Availability to try in person permitting, I probably would have gone for the BeSafe.

Lauren Stewart look at the joie steadi. Rear facing till 4 and smaller than the stages :)

                                            • Rachel S.

Have a look at the two way elite. Only sold in the Uk by the in car safety centre. It is one of the smallest seats in terms of the space it takes up but along with the axkid mini kid has the tallest shell on the market. Will rear face to 25kg with a harness which for an average child is approx age 6. It is also a great price compared to many of the extended rear facing seats. If any child is above average for height or weight it is worth investing in a 25kg seat early on. It will save having to buy another seat to bridge the gap between that and a hbb as it isn't safe to put a child in a hbb until they are at least 4 yrs old. x

Had two of these seats, first one was sent back because it wasn't assembled properly and the second one we took back faulty after the buckle fell apart whilst my daughter was in it. Definitely not made for every day use, my parents have one in their car for occasional use so far no problems but definitely not good for every day use.

                                              • Phillip W.

Cheers just ordered one now x

                                                • Jaclyn S.

We bought one of these but the cream and black! Good for forward facing but rear facing they seem to dip a lot so our little ones head comes forward!! We have a Ford Focus estate and the seat are not flat so wouldn't recommend unless you have flat seats and your using it for forward facing. But tbh we've had trouble with mothercare! We were told and it stated on warranty book that collect in store would be Friday just gone, Still not been dispatched and we are fuming as old one broke!!! If we knew this we would of bought elsewhere. Sorry to be so negative!!!

We have these in red, very good and a great recliner x
