"Edward particularly enjoys sharing his jokes with the class."
This was one of the comments on my youngest's very first school reports and that alone made everyone laugh, as we know exactly what his jokes are like:
"Why did the chicken cross the road?"
"Because he wanted to have a slice of toast!!"
Cue hysterical laughter from him because, clearly, this was one of the funniest jokes ever told.
It's funny, because I remember The Teenagers making up very similar rubbish jokes and rolling around with laughter afterwards.
If it's the same in your household and you want to help your child(ren) increase their joke repertoire then you could do worse than buying them this set of five Horrid Henry joke books.
One reviewer, over at The Book People, bought sets of them to put into party bags which, apparently, went down a storm with all the kids.
Aside from learning some pretty awful (by all accounts) jokes, your child will also be practising and developing their reading skills too; sneaky!
Happy joke telling
