I haven't seen, or thought about, K'Nex for y-e-a-r-s! My eldest son, now nearly 18, used to have loads of K'Nex bits and pieces - I wonder what happened to it all?
If you haven't come across K'Nex and don't have a clue what I'm talking about, let me enlighten you...
It's a building system that uses rods, blocks and connectors - its inventor, Joel Glickman, came up with the idea when he was at a wedding, whilst wondering what he could do with his straw if he connected it to another one (it must have been a boring wedding!).
Joel and his brother, Bob, took their idea to Hasbro, LEGO and the other toy giants but were turned down and told their idea would never take off. TOMY, however, saw the potential and are still having the last laugh as K'Nex is still netting them a fortune every year.
This K'Nex Big Building Tub contains 50 K'Nex pieces and is suitable for little constructors aged three years and over. There are model building ideas for them to follow, or they can just make things up as they go along and put everything away back in the storage tub when they've finished - I found that was always the most tricky bit!
If you have a Home Bargains store close to where you live, you can pop in and collect your K'Nex Big Building Tub for free and if you don't then home delivery will cost between 99 pence and £2.99 depending on whether HBs classify it as small or large parcel.
Happy K'Nex building!
