Former England rugby captain Matt Dawson has shared pictures via social media of his son's battle against meningitis.
The Telegraph reports:
The BBC Question of Sport star shared a series of heartbreaking images charting his child's recovery with his more than 250,000 Twitter followers on Wednesday. Dawson, 43, said that he and his wife, Carolin Hauskeller, had been debating whether or not to post the "upsetting" pictures of young Sami.
This follows the death of a little girl earlier this month who contracted meningitis B. Her parents have also shared pictures of their little girl's battle with the illness, in the hope that it will encourage people to sign a petition calling for all children up to the age of 11 years to be vaccinated against meningitis.
