Free Cinema Access For Carers With A CEA Card

Free cinema ticket with a CEA card

If you're a carer for a disabled person aged over eight years old, did you know that you can get free access to the cinema when you're accompanying them?

The disabled person needs to be in receipt of disability benefits and there's an administration fee of £6.00 per application but that's still less than the average price of a cinema ticket, so well worth shelling out for.

All you need to do to get your free cinema access is visit www.ceacard.co.uk and complete the on-line application. There's also an option to apply via the post but since you're reading this online, I'm guessing applying online is handy enough.

You can also click here to check whether your local cinema is participating in the scheme.

The application is for the the disabled person so any responsible adult can be considered the carer - you don't need to be in receipt of disability benefits.

The CEA Card is a national card scheme developed for UK cinemas by the UK Cinema Association (UKCA). It helps participating cinemas to ensure they make reasonable adjustments for disabled guests when they go to the cinema; in particular it ensures a complimentary ticket for someone to go with them.
