Fisher Price Infant To Toddler Rocker Review
The single, best value for money item I ever got when my son was born was this, the Fisher Price Infant To Toddler Rocker. Emma reviewed a slightly different model last week, the newborn to toddler rocker from Fisher Price, but this chair is more of a bouncer than a rocker.
My son had short naps in this Fisher Price Infant To Toddler Rocker, played in it while I got on with things, and was fed his first solid food while sitting in it. Here he is (above) at the age of 6 months. And now, five years later, it is still his favourite chair for watching TV (below).
Right now, Boots has the Fisher Price Infant to Toddler Rocker on special offer, marked down from £49.99 to £37.49. Throw something else in the basket and take advantage of their free delivery for orders over £40.
With this rocker, you start with the infant/small baby insert that holds their head in place. This is removed as they get bigger and can hold their own head up. The harness can be pushed back through the slits in the material, and done up behind the chair to keep it out of the way. The toys bar is easily removed. And voila, you have a toddler chair.
The bar underneath the chair can be flipped foward to tilt the chair back slightly, and keep it from rocking. The chair also vibrates. When he was a small baby, he found this soothing. As he got older though, this just seemed to annoy him, possibly because it is quite noisy.
From the parent's point of view, the best thing about the chair is how easy it is to keep clean. The cover comes off really easily, it goes in the washing machine, and dries very quickly. I didn't need to look at the instructions or a manual to figure out how to take the cover off and put it back on again. It is also easy to take apart and put back together, again without consulting a manual. I actually did this and put it flat in the bottom of our suitcase when we went on a family holiday to Canada!
