Celebaby: Model Daughters

19 January 2012

There are a fair few celebrity daughters breaking into the modelling world - Annie Lennox's daughter is the new face of Karen Millen, Cindy Crawford's daughter is being used by Versace and Liam Gallagher and Meg Matthews' daughter has been shot by Mario Testino (I'd give almost anything to be photographed by him) and signed by Select model agency.

Tali Lennox

At the grand 'old age' of 19 , Tali is the oldest of the celebaby kids featured today.  I don't know much about her and I don't care enough to rush off and do a ton of research either, but I can tell you she quit school to become a model.

"I was never really the type who wanted to be at school. I don't believe in the pressure of having to follow a certain timeline.  It's great when you're doing a shoot and it's something bizarre; you can feel really confident in a different character."

Well loads of us didn't want to be at school!  Still, it seems that quitting worked out nicely for her and I have to say, though, that I don't rate the latest Karen Millen photographs I've seen - as a photographer I'd be embarrassed if they were my shots, the lighting is just horrible.

Anais Gallagher

Anais Gallagher is a mere 12-years-old and it seems that modelling is her 'destiny' - shot by Mario Testino and signed by the Select Model Agency, I wonder if she too is going to quit school to chase the limelight at the expense of a childhood?

She's being hailed as (possibly) the next Kate Moss and we all know what she's got up to over the last 20 years!

Kaia Gerber

Cindy Crawford's daughter, Kaia, is the youngest of the modelling bunch at just 10-years-old.  She's been snapped for the latest Young Versace campaign and both mother and Versace are thrilled.

"I'm so thrilled that Kaia was chosen to be part of the first Young Versace Campaign.  I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with Gianni and Donatella. There is something so very special about the House of Versace," is her mother's take on it all.

Donatella Versace has this to say, "Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her. Having Cindy on-set for the shoot took me back to all the amazing Avedon shoots we worked on together. It was such a special treat watching Kaia walk in her mother's footsteps!"

I have to say, of all the SuperModels of the late 80s, early 90s, Cindy Crawford was one of the most down to earth ones - hopefully her daughter's inherited that sense of 'normal' too.
