The vacancy is based at a branch of Tesco in Wrexham, north Wales, and the successful candidate can apparently expect to spend their day detangling up to 60 sets of lights per day.
“To help locals enjoy the festive season and relieve some of the stresses often associated with the yuletide season – specifically tangled tree lights – Tesco has launched a search for someone who can conquer one of the most frustrating jobs of Christmas. The position will require a friendly, helpful demeanour, oodles of patience and of course, the innate knack to be able to untangle even the most scrambled of wires.”
The job ad states:
This November, Tesco is launching the UK s first Christmas light untangling service in one of our Wrexham stores and is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fulfil the role of a Tesco Christmas Light Untangler to help customers prepare for the festive season. This new position will offer you the chance to show that Every little helps by running the unique in-store service with a friendly, flexible approach and making a genuine difference to the little things that matter to our customers this Christmas.
And get this - it's totally free to have your Christmas lights untangled at the Wrexham store, and the service will be offered to customers on a first come, first served basis.
