Behold, The Dad Shirt...
5 December 2017

What to buy at Christmas for the new dad who has everything?

How about a baby-wearing t-shirt? We stumbled across these over at the Huffington Post, which reports:

'But today in “things we can’t stop swooning over” is this surprisingly relaxed and breathable t-shirt that allows dads to carry their newborns around in a delightfully tiny and stretchy kangaroo-like pouch. And yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds.'

You can buy one here* for $75 and they ship to international locations, including the UK for around $10 extra – it'll take two to five weeks to arrive.

The Lalabu website describes this as "the first babywearing shirt for dads and claims to make it easy to win as a new dad:

On its own, it's a sporty V-neck t-shirt. Slide baby into the cozy pouch, and it's a new dad's easiest way to bond with baby. Dads can enjoy their newborns and take babies on adventures right from the start. And since there's no learning curve -- nothing to tie or wrap -- the Dad Shirt is an easy way to win as a new dad.

Features of the Dad Shirt include a sporty v-neck design, breathable mesh panel to let you feel and bond with the baby, and an adjustable head support and pouch extender.

I wasn't sure about these at first – why not just use a baby sling, was my first thought, but the more I've read about it, the more I think it's a cool idea. We'd love to hear what you think about this. Would you buy one for the baby daddy in your life? What do you think he'd make of it?

The kind of thing a guy with a “dad” ring will wear lol

That looks like it has no support whatsoever for the baby, it would also stretch like mad with the weight of the baby and no supporting straps.
